How to save the world.



There is an idea.

This idea could save the world.

The idea is of a space sunshade. Originally proposed by James Early in 1989, it proposes that if we were to put a glass disc at the L1 (Langorian) position between the Sun and the Earth. It would be able to deflect some of the light emitted by the sun, allowing us time to mitigate global warming and create a more sustainable renewable energy solution. 

At this time this could be accomplished, for as little as 10 billion dollars according to a not so recent proposal in 1997 by Edward Teller, Lowell Wood, and Roderick Hyde.This proposal is a similar approach using a wire mesh rather than a disc or several discs. Regardless, why have we not done anything about this? 

Ten Billion is not that much money considering that there are one hundred and seventy six people who could do this right now.

 They could save the world… One person could conceivably save the fruiting planet...
